I attended the Wednesday night service last night. It was refreshing to see people dressed like they were coming to worship the Lord. The music was very God honoring. I love the hymns. They preaching was very challenging. He preached on guarding the mind. No matter how old you are the flesh and the spirit will always be at odds. I appreciated the welcome that I got from the people. This was my first visit but it will not be my last.

Lemme tell y'all something I know about their pastor, Jeff Fugate. While this happened about 25 years ago, this really should make y'all stop and ask yourselves if this is really someone you want as a pastor (I for one don't):
A personal friend of mine was going around Lexington handing out fliers to churches around Lexington about an upcoming concert. One of the places he stopped was Clays Mill Road Baptist Church. At the time, this friend of mine wore his hair long (he doesn't anymore and hasn't in years, though), and upon seeing him, Jeff Fugate launched right into a TIRADE about how it was sinful for a man to have long hair. (obviously, he forgot about how GOD blessed Samson with unbelievable strength...)
Because of that one uncalled-for unprovoked angry outburst from Jeff Fugate, according to the Bible he (cough, cough) claims to believe, he disqualified himself from being a pastor (1 Timothy 3:2-3 -- LOOK IT UP!) and therefore, he has no business being in the pulpit and according to the Bible, should have resigned a long time ago.

This is a very loving church that constantly has something going on. It is growing rapidly and always reaching out to others! If you like a church that is alive then Clays Mill is the place for you!

I accepted Jesus as my Saviour 21 years ago. Got into a Bible believing church after. I have been in several different churches for preaching meetings and as a member. My family and I love Clay's Mill Road Baptist Church! We were always encouraged in The Lord, especially when days were dark. Perfect churches don't exist on earth. It was perfect for us! May be God will move us back :)
