You do NOT want to go here, we had to pull our loved one out for her safety after they let her drop, (she chipped her front tooth off), some of her clothes disappeared, jewelry, and she was not given baths for up to a week, until I complained and to top it off, she also contacted Impetago while there. Her back full of blisters, ( they never noticed it because she was not cared for) I moved her out that week and took her to doctor myself. .Contagious which means others have it too.
Willows is the worst, and a for profit only place.

She was given "popcorn, cheese crackers and water" for one of her lunches I was there, I was MAD...., her clothes ruined in laundry, (they throw every ones in together), shrunk, fell apart, stained. No stimulation, set in front of TV, ...mom wanted a deck of cards, they said "sorry, we have no cards." Mom asked my husband " when can I get out of here."
All the employees do is talk among themselves, no interaction with older ones. I went in unannounced, they're talking about their dates, one dear lady wanted some water, they ignored her!
I took Mom back after church one Sunday, another lady in mom's room, asleep in her bed!! Had mom's jewelery out on nightstand. Now, that tells me they are NOT doing their job! I got mom out of there. Took some sneaky planning, but we did it. Called them once she was out. They never knew she was gone.

One family there calls it "Gods waiting room"

Family doctor said to "get her out of there" when took her in, concerned about her skin since living there... and we did. She now has apt, full kitchen, own bedroom, and a front door........and is SO HAPPY . There is another family planning to move their loved one out in spring as soon as weather breaks, same problems. They are on a waiting list at a tried and true place, can't wait to get their loved one out, just like us. We told them how to do it.
We had to "sneak in" and move her out back door. Said "we couldn't take her out" in earlier meeting, ( request meeting about her care, skin, teeth, hair, went downhill) when we asked for meeting how she was treated...told she "had to stay there." They just needed her money....
Friends helped us get her out, sneaked in...we called after we all left and told them she was moved out, not paying bill any more. They never noticed she was even missing!

Not kept clean or minds stimulated.
Mom called me one night, asked if she was "suppose to just sleep on mattress". This was in the winter, I drove in at 8:30 PM, had to make a bed up for her!! They never put sheets on her bed. 1 girl per 17 clients.
Don't use Willows!
I talked to 3 ombudsmen...all highly recommend Sayre Christian Village. Plus, non profit. 2 grand month cheaper too.😊
I know where to go if one needed again.

My mother-in-law was a resident of the skilled nursing wing at The Willows - Hamburg for about a year in total. She spent a few months there, then was able to come home only to return at a later date.

We were very pleased with the level of care and compassion she received while there. Everything was not 100% all the time, but in comparison to some of the facilities we visited before entering her at The Willows, and some of the horror stories we heard about other facilities and the care provided, we cannot imagine there was a better place to meet her needs. Maybe some as good, but none better. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the facility, the variety of services offered, from hair salon to physical therapy and more, as well as the friendly and efficient staff.

Can't say enough about The Willows at Hamburg. If there should ever come a time to consider institutional care for yourself or a loved one, give The Willows at Hamburg very serious consideration.

My sister was at The Willows in The Legacy Building. I knew the minute I went in the Legacy our prayers had been answered. A young lady named Danielle took us to see the building. She knew the name of each resident and their story. The building is beautiful and clean. The nurses and Techs, the cooks and and house keepers were awesome. We fell in love with the staff and the residents. Once there was an issue with a nurse who should not have been with Alzheimer's patients. She was gone next day. They went riding in their bus, had awesome recreation staff. Time came when my sister was dying, Hospice took over her care with legacy staff. They treated my sister so beautifully I get tears. The last day, everything went beautifully. Staff that was off came to be with us. Tina, Jordon, and Michelle held me and Cheryl her daughter. Jordon cleaned her up and I walked back in. Jordon said I hope you don't mind but I shaved her legs because I know Margie would want to look good. Precious girls all of them. Keisha,Sally, Belinda, Christian,Tracy, the cooks, all were so good with her. The nurse on duty that day was precious. We gave her Margie's big Tiger. I hope you see The legacy is a good place to take your loved one. As they change they become rascals and go in others rooms and do some silly things. Things they would never do before. I can tell you this illness is so sad to watch. Your heart will break but when it ends it is a blessing. I know I have left off some names, but you all know Cheryl and I love you and Thank you.
