I'd just like to say this place has saved my life. I was a mess until the day Dr. Rayapati walked into my hospital room at Good Samaritan. He honestly saved me from my demons. He listened unlike any other doctor had in the past and actually understood. Then he introduced me to a great staff of doctors that are always there for me by being caring and understanding. I appreciate everyone here everyday of my life because its all of you that not only changed my life for the better but my families also. I just wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. Id definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I've been a patient with U.K. Department of Psychiatry for 5 years now, and have been extremely happy with their services. As someone on the more severe spectrum of mental illness, it's exceptionally difficult to find a team capable of handling the ins-and-outs of my complex disorders, on top of understanding how my physical health issues play a role in my mental functioning. U.K. Psychiatry both inpatient, outpatient, and in the ED have been exceptionally apt at handling these things, and providing support and aide when needed. My meds are managed and care given to an adequate level. When a medication is causing adverse side effects, or is not working, and concern is expressed, my doctors have had no issues switching the meds and allowing me to have a say in the meds I am placed on. I highly recommend U.K. department of psychiatry for anyone seeking psychiatric care for mental illnesses, especially those who have more complex cases and/or are generally treatment resistant. I have had an extremely positive experience thus far.

I am a staff member at the University of Kentucky and according to the multitude of people at the UK clinic that i have talked to about seeing a psychiatrist, they tell me that Blazer is my ONLY option. The problem with Blazer is that the doctors (or mine at least) are not only completely condescending but don't EVEN PRETEND to care about their patients. I am an existing patient, yet had to call over two months leaving messages for the first month and just calling (because I had pretty much given up at that point) for the next month. I finally got ahold of someone and they could not give me an appoitnment until 3 months later. I asked if I could at least possibly see a new doctor (mine must be going on phased retirement or something, because he now does not work on Tuesdays,Fridays, and who knows if more days and apparently leaves every day before 4:00) and I was told that no one else is accepting new patients. No one else is accepting patients and this is for ALL of the staff at the University of Kentucky? That is disgusting! Most people wouldn't be seeking help from a psychiatrist unless they had to. And to treat people with a psychiatric problem so horribly AND not refill their medication that you had previously prescribed to them?! I've been without my medication (for anxiety) for months and it has greatly affected my job performance, social life, and general well-being. I feel like I'd have a better chance at getting mental healthcare if I went to prison! This place exacerbates my anxiety. I have never hated a place as much as this one. With as much hassle as you have to go through to get there, you would think they would actually try to help. Absolutely despicible and disgusting. I wish that UK cared about their staff so that they could get the proper treatment that they need. My experience has bene that they do not...At all.
