Rude office staff, made my wife (who has speech problems) almost cry on the phone. I am never going back to this ridicolus PCP office again. I can only speak for Dr. Chugtai, but i can tell you i do not like him. He dosent pay attention to the reason you came in but rather seems to pick and choose what issue he wants to deal with on that day, ignoring you when you ask about other problems you may have, would not listen to me and did not address nor solve the issue i had today. The people that draw blood couldn't even do that correctly. I'm a skinny veiny guy, but the lady stuck me today 3 times and still could not find my veins, when she did she said she couldn't get enough blood to do a test and told me i had to go to some lab. corp. Not going to this facility ever again, nor am i taking my family there unless its absolutely necessary to get records. Do not go here, keep searching until you find a place that will accept your insurance or medical history, don't make the mistake i did and go there just because they will accept anybody.

I am a patient of Dr. David Schneider. He is always attentive and willing to consider my thoughts about my care. At the same time, when I'm out of ideas as to how to fix myself, he is able to provide direction or suggestions, while remaining aware of how I feel about the treatment. I will say, there are times when Dr. Schneider's schedule is full, and since he doesn't work Wednesdays, it can take a while to get in to see him, especially for complete physicals, so plan ahead for your healthcare.
I have also seen Katrina "Kate" Dannewitz, APRN-NP (Nurse Practitioner ) for appointments. She is knowledgeable and willing to explain conditions or medications if I didn't understand them.
Dr. Erika Van Wyk ("fun-vake") is a good doctor as well. She knows her stuff! When I ask questions, she explains things very thoroughly; sometimes too in-depth for my understanding, and I'm an LPN. She likes to teach her patients about their conditions and treatments, how they are connected and the importance of following through with your own healthcare. The only non-positive thing I experienced with Dr. Van Wyk is that she often runs behind schedule, but I can speculate that it's because she spends so much time with each patient, making sure they understand the things that are discussed at the appointment. Also, she has a thick South African accent, so sometimes the words she says can be difficult to understand.
Dr. Wasim Chughtai ("chug-tie") is the newest provider in this practice. I believe he moved to Holmes Lake Family Medicine from Star City Medical Clinic. He is the easiest provider to get in to see, schedule-wise. Dr. Chughtai is from Pakistan and has an accent that some people may find difficult to understand as well. I have no problems with him. He is always willing to see me for same-day appointments and is incredibly smart. He is an Internal Medicine doctor, so he does particularly well with patients who have multiple co-morbidities (high blood pressure AND diabetes AND fibromyalgia AND obesity AND COPD, etc). He is very thorough in his exams and takes special care to make sure that his patients needs are met in every way that he can. He truly does care. The only negative thing with Dr. Chughtai is that he often does want to see his patients frequently, but I think this is part of ensuring that they are being compliant with his ordered treatment.
The reception staff can be a little intimidating if you are a new patient, but they will help you get what you need. Brittany has been there the longest and she seems like she knows the in's and out's of the clinic. As a new patient, though, I was asked to fill out New Patient forms online, or I could come to my first appointment an hour early to fill them out on paper. Instead of giving me the website to go to for the forms, I was told to "just Google Holmes Lake Family Medicine and click on the first result that comes up." I felt like that was a little unprofessional.
The nursing staff is interesting. Each provider has their own "team" of staff to help them. They recently restructured how their office works behind the scenes, so there have been some changes. Dr. Schneider and Kate have their team: Angela (phone/triage nurse), Kassy (prior authorization nurse), KayCee (Kate's Medical Assistant), Lauri (Dr. Schneider's Medical Assistant) and a scribe from an outside contractor to document Dr. Schneider's appointments for him. Then, Dr. Chughtai and Dr. Van Wyk have their team: Kendra (phone/triage nurse), Lisa (prior authorization Medical Assistant), Nina (Dr. Chughtai's Medical Assistant, who came with him from Star City Medical Clinic) and Sarah and Rosa (Dr. Van Wyk's Nurses).
I am glad I made the decision to transfer my healthcare to them! I would recommend checking them out if you're looking for a new doctor!

I've Been seeing Dr. Schneider for more than 20 years, ever since Dr. Heinrichs retired, saw him for 15 or more years, he is an EXCELLENT Doctor. Both my parents also see Dr. Schneider and we are all very pleased with the level of care, the attentiveness and attention to detail Dr. Schneider and the Nursing staff provide my parents and myself. Here you are a name a person not just a client. He takes the time to listen to your troubles and concerns then, unlike other Doctors, asks you what you want to do, what a rarity. I would/will recommend Dr. Schneider and Holmes Lake Family Medicine to anyone who wants a deeply caring and attentive Doctor. God Bless the Doctors, Nurses and staff for their caring and compassion over the years and decades.

This morning I made the mistake of calling this office to see if Dr. Chugtai or any other Dr's there on Nebraska Heritage Health would be willing to see me. Jaime spoke to me angrily and was very RUDE to me saying,"All the Dr's have talked about you already and decided you have too many problems for them to see you." I was told last Spring that I could come back if needed. Not so.

Jaime later called me this afternoon again speaking to me hatefully and very Angrily, I didn't want to speak to Jaime ever again after what she said and how she said it this morning. I told her to please not speak to me like that and that's when she got even meaner and told me "all my co-workers are listening in and will back me up that I am NOT speaking rudely,"-while SHE DEFINITELY spoke rudely and Angrily.

Jaime caused me a panic Attack today. She WAS RUDE, Angry and hateful to me. I DO have PTSD, she knows it, and she purposely tried to cause me fear and panic.

I DO feel discriminated against by this office and Jaime purposely ruined my ENTIRE day and caused me undue STRESS and fear and Anxiety which, I didn't deserve. She had already been Super Mean to me this morning for no reason. To call me again much later in the day and continue being Aggressive and Mean was entirely uncalled for.

I politely called this office to simply ask if I could see one of these Dr's that are in Network. Obviously, NOT.

For some reason, I am being targeted and treated as the lowest of the low, denied care and spoken to with pure Anger and Aggression for no reason. And people feel compelled to tell me their colleagues are "listening in", to try to scare me further. That's deplorable.

Dr Van Wyk is extremely detailed and very caring. The staff always knows me by name and makes me feel like I am a valued patient.
