Normally AVIS is a top notch company... if you can get them to answer to phones... customers waiting on cars they reserved, but no one will answer

AVIS Rental is almost always a great experience. In over 100 business rentals, I have experienced a minor inconvenience only ONCE,..and that was pretty minor. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional at all times.
My only minor complaint would be; sometimes the inside of the windshield is cleaned without using either paper towels or a CLEAN clorh. Result: a smudged windshield that does not become apparent until you re driving into the sun, especially in the morning. Then the window becomes very bright with refracted sunlight and makes road vision difficult. Often, I end up having to stop to clean the inside windshield for safe vision. Otherwise the vehicles are immaculate! I do love AVIS and would never switch to another agency.

Will not answer the phone. Tried for 3 days to reach customer service. Left messages through the airport as well. The phone rings and rings... No help at all... Terrible customer service. You've lost a customer.

They tried to give me a beat up old car with a stinch of smoke so strong I almost passed out. Someone tried to mask the odor with very pungent air freshener which actually made it worse. I requested another car that had also been smoked in. They allow smoke and their fleet is trashed.

The service was sufficient and the truck was fine but the rates a %#@! ton more than a previous rental from Enterprise for the same truck and time.
All the extra charges and their gas prices made me want to sit. I definitely recommend filling it up yourself.
There's a shell station at the next exit north of the airport with gas prices much cheaper than what they quoted. The gas station off of the airport exit seems to think they have the best gas by their prices.
Next time I'll make sure to use Enterprise, a friend, or some other service.
