It shouldn't take 5 hours to see a sick baby with a fever of 103. I will never bring my baby back here

Staff lacking compassion, call light ignored and it's worse on the weekend. Required and requested medicinal delays appear to be commonplace. 😣

My mother was recently hospitalized at Baptist Health Springhill and she had about a 10% function of her kidneys. Since she was 86 years old, there was very little chance of survival. The doctors, nurses, and assistants in the CCU and in the comfort care unit of this hospital are the kindest, most compasionate and loving people I've ever met. The morning my mother passed away, every nurse on the floor immediately came into the room with me. The love and respect that was shown to me and my family far exceeded anything I had ever expected. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

I took my 86-year old friend, for whom I am the caregiver to the ER via a 911 call. During the hour and a half that I was kept waiting in the ER after he had been settled into a room, I saw the two security guards man-handled an elderly gentleman out the doot. The man was obviously suffering from dementia or alzheimer;s and was simply asking the staff to contact someone for him so that he could go home. He was not ugly, loud, or violent. He simply repeated himself over and over. A rude nurse at the desk called security saying that he was getting loud, when, in fact, he was not. The two guards showed up and twisted his arm and pushed him out the door, I followed to watch to let them know that I was noting what they were doing so that they did not hurt him. This was only the beginning of my experience with this facility. I was eventually allowed to go back to my friends room. We gave them my name and number as the emergency contact, explained that I was his caregiver, that he lives in my house, got pass code etc. For the next three days, I tried to get information and received nothing but rudeness and abuse. I went over peoples heads to administration and got more of the same. I had people tell me that they could not give me information, that as long as my friend could communicate with them, they would not tell me anything and I was even hung up on. Finally, when I went in to confront them and the problem, I figured out that in the ER, they had failed to put down my information and instead pulled up a six year old record from when he had been admitted before when I was out of town, So, instead of me as the contact, they had a neighbor from down the street on the record. Otherwise, I had a nurse chew me out over her confusion saying that it was my fault because I had asked for her. I told her that her name was given to me as my friends nurse and that was the probem. She, Ann, told me that I was taking it out on her, I told her that I was trying to point out another communication problem in the hospital as I had been told that she was the nurse by another nurse, She kept saying I was talking it out on her. Taking what out, I said, I am trying to tell you of a problem that you have here with communication that you need to correct. She was determined to have the last word and stormed out the door leaving the door open. She them hovered at the door as is she wanted to pick a fight. When I thought she was gone. I told my friend that she was a beeeaatch. Well, she heard because she had the door open and was skulking around the door. So, she gets the head nurse who is then .likewise going to tell me what is what and have the last word. This is what these people are all about and all they are concerned with: playing their game and making you bend over to play it under their rules. It is not about the patient or those of us who are responsible for them. They are rude, ignorant, stupid, defensive, incompetent, and hostile. They brought my friend a full plate of food on the morning that he was to have surgery. Then they tried to sweep it under the rug by saying that they had caught it in time. In fact , they did not. They think they should get inappropriate amount of respect while giving none. They think the they are omnipotent when they are not. They think they can jerk you around and that you will let them because you are the one who is stressed, ill, or dying. What cowards!
