Old school neighborhood bar. Super friendly service with a unique bar food menu. Always a friendly atmosphere with a good conversation waiting to happen. It’s iconic and a must try.

Joe's is cash only & has an ATM that only costs $1.50.
If you don't do beer; they have root beer, and soft drinks in bottles and cans.
The liverwurst sandwich with mustard, cheese and red onion on rye (with pickles on the side) is my go-to first choice.
Just discovered their "HOT" mustard. I recommend getting it on the side and dipping as you go. It is delicious and truly sinus clearing dangerous.
Joe Jost's is what it is. There is no pretense of being anything other than a welcoming, friendly, comfortable place doing what they've done for well over 90 years.
Go alone or with friends. Just go.

You will love it if you like beer, sports, and pool. It offers sandwiches for very reasonable prices. It was quite full when we came there, not so much my type of hangout spot. Supposed to be Long Beach's oldest bar.

Always a good time. Decent beer selection, fair prices. The Special (dog on rye with cheese and a pickle) is like three bucks. Nice people. A Long Beach local spot going back a hundred years or so. Cash only.

It's always a nice stop here. They serve simple lunch options, have the best pickled eggs around and even have options for kids. My son got animal crackers and soda from the tap which he loved. The Nostalgia is always cool as well. My grandfather owned the fisherman shop next door for years and they even still have some of his things on the wall.
