Service was awful
The waitress didn't place silverware in front of us
Didn't take dirty dishes
Wasn't knowledgeable about the menu. Didn't know what the weight was for the meat of the fajitas
No one checked to see on how the food was
Our last waitress left and clocked out without saying anything to us and was taking a call as she walked by leaving that was apparently more than letting us know.

It's not the "best" Mexican restaurant, but it's certainly a good one! The renovated space is more spacious and they now serve cocktails, which is nice. The guacamole is ALWAYS delicious.

I'm from out of town. Each time I visit my sister's family in Long Beach, they take me to Super Mex for dinner, and I am lucky for it. Excellent chips and salsa, service, portion size and flavor all around. I really look forward to coming here, and they never disappoint. I consider myself picky as hell btw, having spent 2 decades in the restaurant biz. Rock on, Super Mex!

SUPER MEX is AWESOME
The nostalgia factor alone; I have been coming here since I was in Middle school and although the place might have changed a bit the food has stayed exactly the same. And you have to applaud them for being consistent. The service is excellent and now I can DRINK with my meal. What is there not to love!?
Pro Tip: Go wild and get a COMBINATION platter. You will not be disappointed.
