I went to Grand Park to view all the altars for the Day of the Dead. They were all beautiful. To my surprise there was one made by a school I work at. One of my favorite schools
But I immediately like the display that was made part of the fountain. All the altars and art displays were awesome.

Great Space! Perfect for pictures. Sometimes they have events taking place check out website for info. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of parking. Street parking is difficult to find and parking lots are about $10 - $15.

Each block encompasses a completely different atmosphere from the other connected blocks. There's usually an excellent event on-going at 1 or 2 of several stages built-in the landscaping. The wading pool is fun with a Starbucks facing. Peaceful & clean considering you're in the Heart of busy Downtown. Great care & interest was taken in the labeling of the plants & greenery that tastefully florishes throughout this distinctive urban public space.

In recent years I've frequented Grand Park. Train station at the base of the park, fountains, benches, a Starbucks, and the occasional festivals and concerts...great local place to unwind or exercise. Most of the park is at a slight incline, yet the wheelchair accessibility is designed very well for comfort for everyone. If you want a reasonably priced alcoholic drink nearby, the highest point of this park is across the street from the Music Center's mezzanine bar. If there is anything happening at the center that day (most days) the bar will be open.

The fountain and splash pad have become a landmark on their own.
The pink tables and benches just beckon at you to come and take a seat.
The big green events lawn in front of L.A. City Hall hosts a wide variety of community events.
Be sure to visit Grand Park during the holiday season. All the beautiful lights, christmas trees, and holiday decorations add a magical sparkle that make visiting this park even more memorable.
