Fantastic food, attentive service, great atmosphere. The thin sliced salmon belly nigiri is some of the finest sushi you will find in State of Kentucky.

I had a hibachi table reserved for 12 people, yet we still had to wait 55 minutes to sit down even though our entire party arrived on time. The food was good, the service was lacking, and the hibachi chef was not very personable. This place's real draw is their terrific sushi rolls.

Best sushi in Louisville, no question. The Red Dragon and the Salmon rolls are my absolute favorite. Every person I have brought to Sapporo loves it. The fish is fresh and it is delicious.

Recently, I ate at Sapporo for the first time. We did the hibachi grill. It was very crowded and I was optimistic since it seemed to be so popular. What I discovered, however, is that the hibachi was very sub par compared to what I have been used to. Maybe the sushi bar is what draws people in, but I was very underwhelmed with the hibachi. Firstly, the soup had very little flavor. The salad dressing was super runny and the salad had browned on the sides. The steak was cooked okay, but also had very little flavor. Same with the rice. My stomach was screaming for some ginger sauce or soy or something. I ended up pouring my yum yum sauce all over everything to give it more flavor. The price, while not shocking for the area, was a bit inflated for what you received. I will stick with Fuji on Dixie Highway. Food is amazing and the price is right. Just because it's highlands, doesn't make it better. Lesson learned.
