I love Royal Taj! Their chicken tikka masala is fantastic and the garlic naan is equally as good. They seem to have stopped their lunch buffet though which is a major bummer.

Tried the lunch buffet on a Saturday - thought it was good quality food, though the selection was skimpy. Compared favorably to a nearby place I tried last week. Interesting twist on standard buffet fare - more complex flavors.

Not bad food, just bad Indian food. I'm a huge fan of Indian food and have eaten at dozens of restaurants and cooked most of the dishes served at them. Royal Taj is, at best, a mediocre example of Indian cuisine. It's the first Indian place I tried since moving to Tempe and I have to say, I won't be going back. The sauces were alright, but the dishes left a lot to be desired. The naan was pretty terrible, the aloo gobi was drowning in oil, and the salad tasted like it had been left out for days. Pass on this place and try another Indian restaurant.

Nice Mom & Pop restaurant. the meat and veggie samosas were yummy but the chicken vindaloo was not as spicy as I had asked for and very little chicken. They used way too much ghee in the saag paneer. Also asked for garlic naan, but it lacked the garlic. Ordered chai tea with milk but it started to taste funny as it got cold. I would have put two stars but the Woman was so nice to give us two free gulab jamun balls... but they were cold. They dragged their feet on drink attendance. It turned out to be 33.00 for two people for dinner. That was a little expensive for such a poor meal.

The food is very good. Good service. Prices are fair. I really enjoyed their mango Lassi. I had the lamb korma, a friend had the chicken korma, and my girlfriend had the chicken marsala. My girlfriend did not think the meat was very good, but I enjoyed it. I recommend this place.
