I think the vets are very loving and great but I think the corporation of Banfield overcharges or they don't know how much they need to charge. For example, I was charged $240 for a health certificate for my dog to travel to Sweden, even though the Swedish government doesn't require all the tests that Banfield claims that is needed. I hate putting my dog through unnecessary stress.
On top of that, my dog already had a pet passport from Sweden. She didn't need a fecal exam and whatever else they said she needed. The same health certificate cost me $35 in Sweden to travel to the US and no useless exams on my dog.

This morning I rescued a kitten from I-95 that had broken legs and a bleeding head. The traffic had stopped and my reaction was to grab this poor thing from the middle lane. I googled the nearest pet hospital and immediately drove to this place. I rushed in there and said I needed help, that I had an injured animal and they looked at me like I had walked into a Walmart or a strip club...like ummm....??? I asked if they had a carrier or something to put the cat in. NOPE. Then I asked for gloves and they hand me paper towels. I grabbed a shopping basket on my way out (Petsmart is connected). When I went to the vehicle to get him, he was so scared that he just jumped awkwardly out of the shallow basket and hobbled to a waterway/fence area and I couldn't get to him. If I had been given normal things such as a carrier and gloves, this inncocent kitten would be rescued. These young women were too busy looking at their phones and talking to help AN ANIMAL AT AN ANIMAL HOSPITAL. I called animal services and they were appalled saying they should have had cardboard carriers and they would have gladly picked up the injured cat. Stay away from this place if you are compassionate about animals!

We stopped going there. We use to have a great vet there named Dr. Duke, but she moved to Broward. Our initial experiences were pretty good with her. We had the puppy plan, which is an inexpensive way to get vaccinations done. However, after Dr. Duke left our experiences started to go downhill.
We had to wait long even when we had appointments, every time we went it seemed to be a new vet seeing our dogs, we always had to explain everything that was happening (they don't look at their files), we did a couple of drop off for treatments and never received updates until we called. This place may seem like a deal for the price, but avoid yourself the headache. There are other better options in the area.
Fortunately, we never had anything really bad happen to us here. We have heard some real horror stories about this place though.

Suing them. No question. Nurse called during my dogs teeth extraction. I asked to explain what was done in comparison to last extraction. Asked to speak to Dr. Vet said need injections I didn't approve of and continued to interrupt me. I became frustrated with how rude she was as did she and she said she is going to wake up my dog. I said DO NOT WAKE HER. she transferred me to the manager who seemed nice and professional. I told him I would be suing them if they woke my dog up first thing I told him. He said fine and went over details of procedure. I thought was fine called to pick her up and they said she was recovering. I get there and my dog was awake and no extractions were done

I don't write negative reviews. But, when a company endangers my pet's life by repeated neglect and lies, I draw the line. If you want to go to a place that will offer/demand costly and useless products for your pet, go here. If you want to go to a place that charges you hundreds of dollars for worthless plans, only to refuse to service a sick animal, this is the place for you. First, my younger cat had routine checkup, a follow up for one where she was declared dehydrated and with possible kidney infection. The new vet (it's always someone you've never spoken to before) didn't look at file (or else nothing was written in her file) and had absolutely no idea what situation we were talking about. Older cat went in on the same day, and had been suffering increasing signs of bladder infection. For whatever reason they couldn't/wouldn't do any testing, charged us for the visit, and said to come back in a week, selling us one week of expense antibiotics. We come back in a week and are told "why on earth would you only give him a one week supply, it only works if it's for two full weeks." By this time my cat is bleeding and urinating all over the house. Again, nothing is really done but we were charged. We bring the cat back for dropoff at 7am to have all needed blood, urine, etc work done so he can be made well. At 530pm we call, and are told "oh we couldn't do anything, he growled at us." He had been left in his tiny carrier for 10 hours!! Who know if any food or water. Of course they didn't call us to tell us this, we had to call on our own. We are told to give him special food (which they didn't write down the previous visit or have any record of recommending to us before). They said we should bring him back in to get the tests (the same tests we just had him in for). So, frustrated as the cat is in obvious misery, we agree to take him in again for drop off. This time, we arrive and they say "oh and what is he coming in for today?" As though they have no record of anything. Keep in mind we are only bringing him in because they have us scammed into an annual wellness plan which supposedly covers them doing nothing for him Multiple times. Well, guess what? 10 hours later I call again and they've done NOTHING! He'd be locked in a tiny carrier, peeing on himself, for another 10 hours!!! I demanded answers and am given some excuse how they are busy and they have no record of this happening to him multiple times. I am charged nearly $300 for (I guess) a sedative they used on him. Magically, after complaining to them, they suddenly are able to do ALL the tests. $650 more later, I'm happy as they say they've done it all, they verbally tell me some results and guaranteed the results for the others will be in in 3 days. It looks like he's in need of surgery, but we'd need to wait 3 days for the results. Those 3 days ended 7 days ago!!!! My cat continues to be in terrible shape. Calls nearly daily were answered with "well call back in a day". Followed by "call back at the end of the week" followed by "these results NEVER arrive for at least 2 weeks, I don't know who told you 3 days." To "a vet will call you first thing in the morning." First thing in the morning arrived 3 mornings ago - still no call or answers. My cat's life is waiting on your call Banfield? How much more money will you demand before providing me the test results so my cat can be saved as he should have over 1 month ago? With or without the tests, my cat's going to another vet. I don't have much hope of getting refunds for the nearly $1,000 I paid to provide Banfield which they have refused to perform. Learn from my mistakes - drive away from the place as soon as you can. There's plenty of other vets and staffs allowed to actually care for animals rather than be trapped into abiding by a vicious "puppy mill" style company like Banfield.
