The food was spot on, and excellent service. Had a very nice French cheese with crostini and a delicious marmalade, which really worked well together. My dining companion had the duck, beet risotto and summer squash -- perfect. I had a weiner schnitzel and red cabbage sandwich, which was fun take on an often heavy dish. And the shoestring fries were perfect.

For the prices the food should be much better. The service was good. We arrived at 5:45 on a Sunday & were told there was a 2 hour wait, though it was half empty. My husband's burger was good but my pork chop was flavorless, they must have tried liquid smoke rather than actually smoking it. The preserves (with cheese plate), hot sauces & the kohlrabi slaw had the smokey chipotle flavor which I don't care for and wasn't listed - a very unpleasant surprise over and over throughout my meal. Also I do not care for the bland fried variety of cornbread that was served with the pork chop. Ambiance was good, timing was good, presentation was good & food was served at the right temp.

We've come here for weekend brunch several times. There's always ample seating inside, but the food is great and prices reasonable. Food crispiness (bacon, potatoes) can vary by day (and I assume by cook), but that's normal. We've made this our go-to brunch spot after bad experiences at another restaurant that we'll call "warm dish." 🙂

Every time I go to the NE Social it's better than the last. They have a nice beer and wine selection, great craft cocktails, and the food is delicious. Service is always on point. The last trip we shared the mussels, greens with ramps and wild mushrooms, and the scallops and pork belly. It was perfection. We lovingly savored every bite.
