The manager, Sue, has been an inspiration to me. Whenever I was looking for great books to stretch my mind, and that were intelligent choices I
looked to Sue to help me find those books. But, now the management has chosen to leave a black hole in Hillsboro Village that cannot be filled by ordering online. Good bye Sue and I wish you the best for your future.

BOOKMAN IS CLOSED AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2016.

Very nice stuff, funky & diverse selection and fair prices. And there's a great cafe next door to start reading whatever you buy :)

I am a sucker for a good book store. Love this local place and always go there when in need of something special.

I just picked up a book I had found online at this bookstore. They were very helpful in getting the book to the store so I could purchase in person rather than purchase from their online store. The book was as described except for one big detail. The book was advertised as a First Edition, and it clearly states on the second page in the book that it is actually a Second Edition. While I still purchased the book because it is signed by the author and was a fair price, I think it is very misleading to advertise a book as a First Edition when it is not.

Really good selection. Also run by thieves. Even if you have money coming out of all of your orofices you should not pay what they ask out of principle. They demanded three dollars for a book so dirty and tattered that any self-respecting peddler would be ashamed to ask a quarter for. Their paperbacks were each six dollars. I went home and picked up seven vintage sci-if paperbacks for seven dollars.
Apparently Nashville supports these practices. Good for you, Book-man Book-woman. You facilitate the greed and foolishness of a system fated to fall. What really bothered me was their conscious extortion of common printings of well-known authors, speaking as if they were rare editions. If you look anywhere outside of the tourist areas, you can find them for two dollars, and I wish you would.
