Worked there for a year. By the nature of any Psych facility it was stressful. I tried to do the best that I could. Wasn't good enough. The director of the dept I worked in, hired her friends to come and work there. I saw the writing on the wall when she would randomly parade her friends in, while making the comment, "I want her to work here". I was let go for "poor job performance". There was NOT one complaint by patients or staff, Inc the MDs. I was told that the job was about quantity and NOT quality of care. I had been shown how to do a complicated task, but never asked to perform it. My emp review reflected this, and I was "below average" on my review. i spoke to HR, it seemed like it was addressed............until I was let go. I was encouraged BY HR to file for unemployment. 9 weeks later and they haven't submitted necessary paperwork, so I have NO income. I can't use it as a reference, even though I was NEVER faulted for anything, for any of my work.
It IS All about Quantity, which sucks because the patients are admitted, discharged, readmitted, discharged etc. etc.
Nothing changes if Nothing changes!
I prefer to work WITH patients. That's what I went to school for. I'm not about the quantity, but totally about the Quality of care. That's what they refer to as my "Poor job performance".

Ive heard too many cituations of patience being overmedicated n this should be a HUGE CONCERN n why isnt anyone pushed to get all this investigated n MAINLY GET THESE PATIENTS TRANSFERRED THE HELL out of there lets all stick together n make it happen for im gonna DO MY DAMN PART to see to it something is done rightaway godspeed wish u all the best.

My Mom is currently in this place .It needs much improvement. We had trouble with the male social worker on unit 3 ,he had no compassion for Mom or family members . Refused a family meeting as requested. Sent her to a nursing facility without explaining things to her and she was back in 24 hrs . We had no other option but to send her back . The staff was very nice and the dr. Also . The place needs to improve in many areas .

So far so good. My son has been here for three weeks now. His Doctor is always available to talk with me concerning my sons treatment. The hospital is clean, decent environment compared to other aging hospital s I have seen. My son doesnt have any complaints, which is a small blessing amongst the larger issue of his illness. Time will tell as he has further treatment here. Be happy to report back as reading reviews is most helpful when you have a loved needing help.

Family member came to this place. We thought he would get help and be safe, neither happened. They over medicated him and he was assaulted by other patients multiple times. He was placed in a dangerous situation where he had to defend himself. The staff never told us and continued to move him from unit to unit saying it was quieter for him. The stuff never picked up the phone. Never returned our calls. They lost most of his belongings except for a few items we got back. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone its a disgrace, disturbing and appalling the way they handled this situation.
