They are not opened at 7am, like stated online and at their office door. So, had to wait for an hour. They require the last digits of the creitcard that you used for booking. Not helpful at all if your card was replaced.

We reserved a car for 7/14/17. Called to move reservation for the 7/15/17. We get to the Union at 9am Station and front desk Female had an attitude from the get go. She claimed that no one had made a note if it, nor had any arrangements been made for us. When asked what is the E.T.A on next available car, she raised her voice and demanded that I step away from the counter. I did so in hopes to resolve the issue instead she step outside look at her phone and went back inside without notifying me of any updates. That was so condescending and the breaking point for us. So dissatisfied with her customer service or lack off. We went with Enterprise and they gave us a ride to their facilities, they were super professional and welcoming. We even got to pick our own car. Please give staff a class on customer service.

This place is too busy, understaffed and under-stocked. Most of the time, when you call them, they will bluntly tell you they have no cars and no time to discuss or fix any problems. They will tell you this without apology, and try to get you to call the corporate helpdesk, even for situations that can only be solved locally. The location is convenient but needs better staffing.

Understaffed but they had my reservation ready and are your only real option of basically any CT Amtrak station to get a car right at the station. Car was kinda crappy compared to renting from other places, but it worked and was fine. My gripe is they make you pre-authorize a charge to refill the gas if you don't bring it back full. If you do bring it back full, furnish a receipt and the charge is waived. Fine. I brought it back full, receipt from 10 minutes prior to returning it in hand. Great, the employee assured me the pre-auth charge was refunded/waived. Then, 3 days later Avis puts through a charge for $30 for the gas. Scam BS, and since I had to surrender my receipt... it's my word disputing it with credit card now. Avis sucks. At least the one in New Haven does.

Total scam -- The desk person kept threatening not to rent me my pre-paid car for random silly reasons and tricked me into pre-paying for gas. Then my car was filthy (literally french fries all over) and the seat wouldn't recline. Of course, I was afraid to go back to the desk because I thought he would get even angrier at me and not let me have a car. Because I didn't buy the extra insurance, which he claimed was CT law.
