Very good, but supposed to be best pizza in America so high bar. It was certainly not the best pizza, even if it's good. Got the white clam pizza which was certainly the best clam pizza I've had.... But odd bar. The dough really is incredible but the clams were sometimes too chewy to eat and that's a big red mark.

Easily in the top 3 best pizza in New Haven. And that's saying something because New Haven has the best pizza in the country in my opinion.
There is often a line outside to be seated, but it's worth the wait. Or you can always just get takeout.

On our East Coast trip we drove up from NYC to Maine and had to stop at Frank Pepe's for lunch and their world famous White Clam Pizza. We were not disappointed. Service was fast and friendly. The pizza was half the size of our table. Despite feeling full, neither me nor my husband could stop eating it. The flavor was surprisingly delightful. Our one year old even tried it and enjoyed it. We did end up having to take some of it to go, and it was just as good reheated later. The wait staff was really sweet, they gave our daughter a paper hat to wear and she was just elated. I've heard Sally's pizza down the street (related) is just as good, but they don't open until dinner and we were in town early. New Haven looked so beautiful in early fall, I wish we could have spent the day there, but stopping for pizza was perfect. I hope we can go back soon

Too long of a mine to wait for a table -- that's a good thing for a fabulous pizzaria -- but walked right in a ordered a classic clam white pizza on a delightful thin, crispy coal fired oven crust for TAKE OUT! Sometimes you have to feed your first-time curiosity as an out of tower and eat in the car. We did, and We don't regret it one single bit -- or is that bite?
Absolutely delicious. Touring Philly band plays a show in New Haven, and heads to the next show in NJ with a full stomach of the much ballyhooed pizza from New Haven. What a right decision! Thank you Frank Pepe's!

Great crust , great cheese , and great sauce , all which make for a great cheese pizza. Add garlic to every pie for extra good flavour.
They have a lot of different pizza options , but the regular is really the most outstanding.
This place is worth the wait and worth trying if you are in New Haven. The pizza is simple , but delicious. The crust is crispy on the outside and a little doughy.
The staff is friendly and efficient.
Bring an empty stomach and eat a ton of pizza !
