Burgers are made one way and one way only. Burger tasted amazing and was worth the wait. Tiny place with little sitting so try to go on off hours or be prepared to wait awhile. Definitely have to try once

A wonderful Gem and a Must for anyone who visits New Haven. Friendly people working the counter and the Burgers are Unique and Delicious.. New York City does not have anything like this.

Lived up to everything I read about it! I visited about 9 on a Friday night. Loved the Historic atmosphere, original equipment was fascinating, and the burger was tasty. Yum! (I went with their usual medium rare for the authentic experience, was not disappointed, but don't expect an Applebees burger) Not a place for picky eaters- burgers, potato salad, pie those are your choices! *As noted on their website they are closed the entire month of August.

Visited this place because of its reputation. $10 for an original burger and potato salad. The original burger contains cheese spread, toast, medium-rare beef patty, tomato slice and onion ONLY w/o any other condiments (Don't ask for ketchup or bring ketchup in). No salt so you can fully enjoy the original taste of every ingredient. A perfect combination in conjunction with the little over salty salad. Service is efficient and friendly.

Absolutely NOT disappointed by this one. The place is old and tiny and it felt like going back in time walking through the door. That alone was worth the experience of going there. We were greeted by a friendly face who pointed us smiling to the restroom. Ordered our food and drinks and got to relax for a while before it came out. The guys behind the counter were super nice. The burger sandwiches were outstanding! The meet just melted right in your mouth. This is a MUST TRY if you're ever in New Haven, CT!!!
