We visit this place every summer. So many events to chose from throughout the season. Try to coordinate your visit with some of their fantastic festivities. Adults, Children and everything in between can find something.
The "Satchmo Fest" featured amazing live jazz and swing bands, crafts for kids, food and souvenir vendors as well.
It's located next to the French Market; an outdoor market with all things New Orleans. Great prices for families looking to shop with limited budgets.

The gentleman working was very nice. There was jazz happening down the block that he suggested we see. However, when asked what he could tell us about the park, he didn't seem to have much to say. I think there was a museum on the other side we didn't see, but he didn't say anything about it so I'm not positive.

Hear a featured New Orleans musician with the rangers at 2pm Tuesday through Thursday in the theater at the Mint. Enjoy jazz yoga on Saturday. Also west African drumming and dance followed by Music for all ages on Saturday. Have a conversation about origins of jazz or current culture and traditions. Make some music with the rangers. Get tips on where to hear good music. Two ranger stations are open 10 am to 4 pm, Tuesday thru Saturday. 400 esplanade and 916 n peters. A one of a kind nps site.

I found this place by chance! On saturday afternoon i found a brass band session playing great jazz! FREE entrance, open to enter and sit for some time enjoying NOLA jazz (and air conditioning!)
