What a great place! So glad we tried it! The food was amazing( Chef Hank sure knows what he is doing!) Lexi our waitress was not only friendly and knowledgeable- she can sure make an amazing martini flight! Surely one of our new favorite places!!

Incredibly disappointed. We had a party of 7 people. The food took forever to come. When half of our table had received food, the other half still had to wait 25 minutes to get anything. We tried to order the special on the board, but it was over a week old and not available anymore. When we asked for our checks, the server (who wore a backwards nike hat the whole time....) really struggled with getting our checks correct. It took almost an entire hour to get our checks and then our change. Everything was so disorganized and slow that we were there for a total of 2 and a half hours, when we had NO intention of being there that long. One of the worst experiences that I have ever had in dining.

Bardo has major issues of recent vintage. There has been a huge turnover in staff. The food is still very good but the service has suffered. The waiter we had didn't know that you should bring out the salad before the hot dish and the bar tender didn't seem to know how to make a gin and tonic. The place was empty. Suspect it's going down. Sad to see. Have loved this iconic restaurant for a long time.

Food was awesome. Went with friends after the lunch rush. The staff and owner were very nice. Even though we thought the service was on-time, the owner thought service was too slow so provided dumplings on the house for us. She didn't have to, but it was a kind and hospitable move. Only issue was the tempura dishes were heavily coated vs traditional Japanese-style, but still tasted great; the banana tempura was the best!

Bardo is a great place for tasty creative reasonably priced cocktails. Unfortunately I don't feel the same way about the food. The Friday night when we went the kitchen really struggled. The temperature on several dished was off. The creativity in melding interesting flavors fell short and I think the menu slants heavily towards the Asian flavor profile. Overall there are a lot better places to eat in Ghent or downtown.
