Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel

Nice hotel, with a clean, quiet room. No issues at check-in.

The gym has about 4 treadmills, 2 bikes, and 2 ellipticals. It has some floor mats, weights up to 50lbs, medicine balls, bands etc.  Small gym but if you value your health you can squeeze in a good workout in there.

Breakfast on the 10th floor is nice for those that can enter.  Unfortunately, at this location, they provide no protein (bacon, sausage, etc,) besides watery eggs like other Sheraton's that I have been to. They also have oatmeal, toast, yogurt, jams, butter, Starbucks brand coffee for breakfast.

The lounge is open 24 hours (for those that qualify) and you can grab cokes, water, snacks etc. as you see fit. This hotel is also within walking distance to the Waterside restaurants.

If you are in the area I would recommend you give this hotel a try.

This was my third time staying at this hotel, the experience was great until my most recent booking. How is it that you making a booking and unable to cancel without being charge the total amount. My reservation is almost one month out and I being advised that I can't cancel. I will stay this time but never again. We only wanted to cancel and change the date and bring more friends with us. Instead of booking one room we would have book 20 rooms. This is what happens when you have disrespectful individuals who work in customer service. Instead of listening to a customer concerns, you talk over them and say what you can't do.

I stayed here for the first time last November. I requested an early check-in, was not able to get it, came back at regular check in time and my room still wasn't ready and the system would not accept my company's check for my room. The desk staff was unhelpful and slightly short with me. After walking around with all my luggage for the whole day, My room wasn't ready until 6pm. The desk staff softened and gave me a complimentary breakfast and access to the lounge for my trouble. The hotel was clean and the room was lovely once I got into it. I have to stay at another starwood hotel this November and I'm hoping it goes better.

Often times in the service industry the art of customer service has been lost. Not here, everyone from the valet service to the kitchen staff were AMAZING! We were warmly greeted every day, asked if we needed anything and treated like we mattered. We really wanted hot chocolate one day and we didn't see it on the room service menu but we called down and asked anyways. They said they would see what they could do and send someone right up. It took about 20 minutes but they delivered hot chocolate packets, a kettle of hot water, cream and sugar. I really think they went out and purchased this just for us. Again, we were amazed. We were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary and we will be back.

The hotel is nice and undergoing a remodel. Parking is either valet or a short walk from a nearby garage for a much cheaper rate. The rooms were clean. The bathroom in our room was on the small side, but adequate. Nice location, decent rate. Pretty friendly.
