What a great restaurant! I grew up in Norfolk and used to go there as a kid and young adult Now I had the opportunity to take my kids! Making new memories! !

Doumar"s is WONDERFUL! it has yummy food and a warm atmosphere. Their lime aids are the very best I have had anywhere!!! You can eat inside or sit in your car and be served or have take out.....all good...I highly recommend this place, ENJOY

So this place has hands down the best waffle cones I've ever had! The wait staff and counter staff were extremely friendly and seemed like they genuinely enjoyed their jobs. The ice cream they serves was good but they could have offered more flavors. They restaurant itself does need a refresher as it looks like it hadn't been redone some the 1970s. This is more of a cosmetic issue than an issue with the food.

Historic and super fun! Old-fashioned drive in. The menu is simple but everything is good. My kids love to go to Doumar's for ice cream--they offer a variety of fun sundaes and delicious, super thick milkshakes. It's very inexpensive. It's got a classic, retro feel that is a big part of makes it so much fun. One of our favorite things is to watch when they are making ice cream cones outside on an old-fashioned machine.

Great retro American diner. Curbside service, great cheap burgers, BLTs, fried ham sandwiches. The bacon grilled cheese is great too! Just order it all. It's very cheap! If you're interested in the history of Norfolk, they have binders with lots of photos that give you a rare glimpse in to the origins of the city. A Hampton Roads staple.
