My vet of 7 years was retiring, and I went with hopes. I was told over the telephone that for a consultation it would cost $64, and I felt that was fine. I asked if it would be a busy morning, and the girl on the phone said that my cat and I could spend as much time as I needed with the veterinarian. The staff was extremely nice. I did not really mind that it was an old building or that it smelled of mold. When I met the veterinarian Dr Bocian, she did not offer her name, she did not greet me (did not shake my hand, say hello etc), she was not a warm person. I asked if she were the veterinarian, and she said yes. I did not mind because I felt that some folks are just like that. I had brought the cat for a lesion in his mouth. She examined my cat, but she refused to put her fingers in the cat's mouth to fully examine (feel, touch) the lesion. She made a big point that "I'm not going to put my fingers in the mouth of any cat-- it might bite me. I'm not going to take any chances." She repeated this over and over, at least 4 times, and I said, "I understand." But after I left, I did not understand. There is a lot wrong with this. Other vets have examined the lesion without any problem, but not Dr Bocian. I consider this substandard care. I asked her how much water and food a cat should eat per day at a minimum, but she did not know; she left me for 15 min to look it up. She came back and told me 10 ml water per day, which seems very low actually. Then she stayed another 10 minutes giving me information over again that she had told me the first time she was in the room, and I found out why later. When I went to pay my bill, it was $95. I asked why, and the staff did say that since I had called and was quoted $64, I should pay $64. They felt badly. But the doctor did not come back to discuss anything, so I paid. I felt rather abused. The explanation was that she had spent excess time with me and that since I had seen another vet prior to her, it was a "second opinion", which she could charge extra for. I am unhappy with this experience, and I cannot recommend this vet to anyone. She is cold and she impressed me with a lack of knowledge, frankly.

Most horrible vet experience we have ever had.
I adopted my cat 9 years ago and she means the world to me. She is very healthy apart from som seasonal skin allergies needing a shot to stop the itching, nipping, and scratching.
We have moved a lot and she has seen a few vets for this condition. They all have asked pretty much the same questions and provided the same treatment for the condition and have been great with my cat... until this place.
The only question asked of me by the staff (repeatedly) was what kind of food she eats.
When the Dr finally came in, she seemed annoyed and flustered (didn't get her name as she never introduced herself).
Immediately she starts laying into me about the food she eats. I start to explain to her my reasons for the food, she cuts me off. She still has not acknowledged my cat. She continues by blaming her food for her "dry skin". Wait? I didn't miss work and call all over town to find an appointment for dry skin. So now I try to explain the history and why we are there. Never was I allowed to complete a sentence. Still she has not even looked at my cat.
The response, we don't do that kind of testing here. Testing for what? To see what she's allergic to. Now I'm trying to explain that I have visited that with other vets, cut off.
Finally I ask her to please examine her because she is miserable, picking herself bald and why I felt the urgency to be seen right away. Finally she gives her a 20 sec once over before telling me she refuses to give her the treatment she needs and offering not one suggestion to end the suffering. She could easily get an infection from this!!!!
I should never have paid the $70 office visit but by now I was dumbfounded and emotional and just wanted out of this hell hole.
Do yourself a favor and do not waist your time, money and risk having your cat get the treatment they need.
4 more days of misery and finally she was seen by a competent vet who treated us both with respect, took their time and rendered the proper treatment. Bay Beach Veterinary Clinic is well worth it and they have emergency hours as well

Cats Only policy makes for less stress on your cat! Wonderful, friendly, caring staff. Best feline vet ever! Dr. Bocian & associates are superb!

My personal experience wasn't pleasant. In my experience, the staff appears to be knowledeable, but they lack good customer service skills. I went to this business because they specialized in cats.

In my opinion the physical environment needs updating, cleaning, and lacks current technology. The staff claimed they mailed appointment reminders, which I never received. When I asked if they could call or send email, I was informed, they don't have email.

After reading all these reviews I based my final decision about taking my ill cat here on the fact that there were no poor reviews in the year of 2009. Big mistake! I ended up going throught some of the experience John S "Do not take your cat here" describes in his review. Upon entering, you are eerily greeted with the DISTURBING smell of cat urine - it hits you immediately!. Then there is the 1970's decor, including the fading ceiling tiles covered in moisture stains. Then you are called into a small unventilated room. It was so unpleasing to be in there! You can't help but notice the smell of cat urine and stains. And forget discussing your concerns - the Vet has her ideas already planned for your kitty. And when it's check out time she has added so many fees to your bill and done things to your cat you never even discussed. Don't waste your time or hard earned dollar here.
