In a recent contest held by this "magazine", voting was full of suspicious behavior: one contestant got nearly 1000 votes in the span of an hour, and the organizer claimed she would look into it, and found nothing wrong. Unfortunately, cheating in online poll type contests is hard to detect. It's easy for someone to buy votes that get spoofed from different IP addresses.

But, come midnight Pacific time, when the contest was listed as allegedly closing, the polls stayed open, accepting votes as late at 7am at the very least. Screen shots were taken shortly after midnight when it became apparent that the polls were broken, and the organizer was informed of the glitch. She stated she would remove all votes cast after midnight.

Lo and behold... the totals remained virtually unchanged. The second place contestant rose to first place in the extra time the poll stayed open. The invalid votes were not stripped, and she was unfairly awarded first place.

When screen shots of the polls at midnight were provided to the organizer, she got upset at the people who brought the issue to her attention, and sent out spiteful emails. Rather than be thankful for the time stamped images, and correct the poll, and safeguard the integrity of the contest, she decided to ignore the proof.

I would be wary of dealing with this "magazine" if honesty, integrity, and fairness are important to you.
