With Kamakura out of commission we needed a new place for our Sushi/Sashimi fixings and Angel Fish fit the bill.
Fish was fresh, and their knife skills were right on. Restaurant doesn't seat that many but can easily handle a party of 30. Most of the stuff we tried was spot on and to standards. Oysters were fresh and reasonable.
There's ample parking spaces and the staff here are friendly and knowledgeable.

The freshest fish available, cut to order, not cut in advance like lesser sushi shops. The best grade rice, seasoned with a custom recipe of brown rice vinegar, sugar and salt, not a "seasoned" rice vinegar out of a bottle. Expensive nori, not the cheap stuff, same with the pickled ginger. Owner knows fish, knows quality. Order accordingly.

I have been to every Japanese restaurant in Alameda, many in Oakland, and a few in San Francisco; this place by far has the most authentic feel to a restaurant in Japan. People that have been missing that truly authentic taste of Japan from their travels, work, or studies abroad will immediately find themselves coming back to try everything they have to offer.
-Green tea is free
-The only restaurant in Alameda that serves hot soba ( that I can recall)
