The place is a joke. The nurses and staff in the ER are lazy and do not want to work. They are balancing check books and talking on their personal phones while patients lay there suffering. I have names and dates and times and am considering all my options to take this sorry excuse for a hospital down. They are dirty, do not flush IVs. The floors on the bathrooms have piss all over them. I highly reccommend that folks go to Munroe or Shands instead of this hell hole......

While playing softball, I sprained my ankle. It swelled up a lot, but I could walk on it. Just to be safe, I went to the local Ocala Regional Ctr in Summerfield. They took an X-Ray and then I saw a PA or someone who told me that it wasn't broken and to Rest, Ice, Compress and Elevate my ankle for several days. I paid $120 when I left and thought that was it. Within a couple weeks, I received a bill for $1,131 minus the $120 that I had already paid! I called their main office and was told that they billed $3,370 to my insurance company for an ankle sprain!!! I drove myself to the facility and back home, no ambulance, no overnight stay, nothing. My insurance refused to pay and said the amount should be $1,131, all of which I am responsible for paying. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS IT'S ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL, LIFE AND DEATH. I'll never go to them again. I spoke to my primary physician who said that had I gone to him, the total would have been a few hundred dollars vs THIRTY THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY DOLLARS.

I'd like to shout out the entire staff in the oncology wing for saving my life in early 2013. In late December 2012, I was diagnosed with late stage 3 cancer. I was admitted to MRMC to have a chest port placed, then days later transferred here.

It was the beginning of a near 5 month stay as my condition initially, began to deteriorate rapidly to the point where i could not even walk, as fluid backed up in my legs and I was close to total organ failure. Thankfully, with the medical staff and guidance and specialists and chemo, they were able to get me on the path to recovery. In late April 2013, I was discharged and though I have health issues now I'll struggle with the rest of my life the cancer is still currently in remission.

I just figured in a world where so many jump to criticism and negativity, I wanted to acknowledge the amazing medical team that went above and beyond for me. I'll never forget it. Thank you.

Not so sure why low rating. but I'm a pro from stroke open heart and many other things for friends hundred of ER AND HOSPITAL THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE A WELL OIL MEDICAL MACHINE. WITH TOP NOTCH DOCTOR'S HIGH TECH EQUIPMENT AND Awesome bedside manner. Come here for sure I don't know the others but they don't know from South Florida FINALLY a place I can trust. Feel great coming here it excellent.
