Insure Oklahoma!

It seems like InsureOklahoma is "culling the herd" and trying to force as many people off of the program as they can. We were there also waiting on hold for 3 weeks at 2 to 3 hours a day last year in 2016 when InsureOkla was forcing all of the applicants to re-enroll or else lose their families insurance. Everything above in the first review is absolutely true. They quit mailing statements and the phones lines are down as we speak on a Thursday afternoon at 2pm. They take your documents but the software is not good enough to understand what is going on with your account so you basically end up in a Catch22 situation where you will lose your families insurance even though you did everything perfect and jumped through all the hoops. It may sound crazy that a government office could be run this way and stay afloat but it's actually happening.
I am surprised that anyone is actually still insured through this program. Eventually they will get their way and there will be no one left on the program. They make it so difficult to keep your family insured that there will literally be no one left to insure within in a few years. They send out a message on the 16th of the month asking for tax forms but they don't send a paper copy and their "email" always ends up in the spam folder. You log in the 30th just to check things out because the system is not exactly trustworthy from a client perspective. You are informed that you have one day to get your docs in or you will lose your insurance. You upload your docs and then log back in on the 31st. They ask for documentation about your self employment tax exemption. The only problem with their request is that your already uploaded tax docs have that information already contained in the schedule C that they already have in their files from yesterday. So you log back in on the 1st of June one day later and look at your account. It shows that you are denied and that they have cancelled your coverage supposedly for "nonpayment" but in reality your account is paid several months ahead in order to avoid situations like this one. The bad part is that it's much worse than the scenario you have just read. Please post your experiences here and get them on the record. This is a source of great stress. It takes some serious time and effort to try to get insureoklahoma to sell my family the coverage that we already qualify for. The rules have been bent and the rules have been broken. Something is not right here and it isn't getting any better.

As an employer, I am, to say the LEAST, very frustrated with InsureOK. Not only did they REQUIRE that every employee is MANDATED to re-enroll in InsureOK, but then they did not staff up for this mandatory procedure. Many of our employees have waited 2-3 hours on the phone for weeks (yes, WEEKS!), during busy work days, and still was not able to get through to a representative at InsureOK who can help them re-enroll. If they are going to mandate every employee to re-enroll, then InsureOK needs to be MANDATED to hire enough staff to help with re-enrollment. Not right at all InsureOK. Not right. Yes, they did extend their deadline to April 8th because most employees and employers, such as myself, could not get through to re-enroll because of their staff issues, but then they have the audacity to CLOSE April 4-6th, Monday-Wednesday right before their deadline of re-enrollment? So basically they didn't extend their deadline because you still cannot get through for help. Did they decide to go on vacation during a vitally important time of re-enrollment? Don't even get me started on how enrolling on their website is not user friendly whatsoever and if you need to get any personal information regarding your EEN, health insurance etc, you can't get a hold of InsureOK because...you guessed it, you can't get a hold of them!! This is all very unprofessional and inexcusable. I am infuriated, along with thousands of other individuals.
