On a minimum salary job I chose Kaiser Permanente as my health care choice due the low monthly cost and because of the convenience of having so many medical services available at one location. My choice was a MAJOR mistake. Over the course of two years I never made a medical appointment because to receive specialty services I was always instructed to first meet with my doctor to get a diagnosis and ultimately have two appointments and two copayments.

Anytime I called customer service I would have to get transferred at least two times even though I called the right department. The problem would always come back to the fact that the person I was talking to was located in another state and would have to transfer me to a local representative. My attempts to contact Kaiser always took at least twice as much time as necessary.

Lastly, I needed to get my MMR titers done for a new job. I could have payed $89.00 at a walk in clinic (this service has always been free besides a copayment with my previous insurers). Despite a receptionist assuring me that at least part of my payment would be covered I was billed the full price of $142. This was my mistake for not doing my research but how on earth does the biggest healthcare provider in the U.S. charge more than a walk in clinic? Pretty hypocritical for a company that prides itself on being affordable.

I would NEVER recommend Kaiser to anyone.

What a pleasant experience with phone customer service. In one phone call I was able to handle all my family's appointments and update information. They were patient and welcoming.

First all reviews on here before Kaiser took over should be removed. The low reviews for Group Health are not fair to Kaiser at all!!

I am new to Kaiser and was not able to see my primary until August 7th, I was told to go to urgent care. They were amazing!! I saw Dr. Nyland and had charge nurse Lynn. They were personable, while being professional and both immediately put me at ease! They took care of my issue and answered all my questions. Thanks to them I am much more at ease about meeting my primary and her staff. Thank you to all the staff that were in urgent care!!

Very impressed during a visit at the urgent care center. They were friendly and kept me informed while we awaited testing. I am so glad I chose to change my medical insurance to Kaiser!

My husband and I have been going to Group Health for six years. We have always gotten referred to specialists as needed. Our primary care physicians have been great although we did have to make a few changes to find one that would meet our needs and that we felt comfortable with. The pharmacy recently had an upgrade and times were slow but that's been fixed now. No complaints. We seriously looked at all her options during open enrollment for Medicare advantage and didn't find anything equal or better than the plans at Group Health/Kaiser Permanente.
