I've held off on writing a review of First UCC Orlando for some time. I did that because I didn't want to broadcast my opinions to the world based upon one or two sermons. After today's sermon (and worship, and the subsequent brunch), I felt a shift. I knew my opinion had been formed, and it was time to buckle down and write my review.

Today, for the first time ever, I felt at HOME in Church. At First UCC, I'm spiritually moved, intellectually challenged, and welcomed like nowhere else. Pastor Leigh's sermons are always provoking. Instead of reading the Bible like a stagnant history book, we are pushed to examine the Word of God always keeping in mind the compassionate ministry of Jesus. We are then challenged to take what we've learned from the week's Bible passage and preach.

I'm glad to have found a congregation where preaching with our actions seems to be the priority.

This church has been a blessing with their food pantry and the thrift shop. Pastor Joel is very kind and is there to listen. This church is a blessing to me and my family.

For many years,my family turned to this church for help & guidance. I feel betrayed by its shameful treatment of myself & my friends by the pastor Joel. He caused me no end of suffering,neglecting to assist with food,& causing me a huge legal nightmare. I wouldn't recommend anyone getting attached to this church. It really is't worth the hearache.
