Am I mad at myself for never going into this place the last 14 years. OMG. Amazing food, courteous wait staff than can actually laugh. Reasonably priced. Best empanadas I've had in Orlando bar none. Tasty and light chicken soup, melt in your mouth steaks, great mofongo, beans with substance and flavor. I could go on but best to try it yourself.

Wow!.... The food was excellent... I had Rotisserie chicken with Mofongo and it was the best. Highly recommended.

It almost seemed like I got someone else's order. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it was well done. I order the eggs sunny side up and got somewhere between over medium - over hard, which is pretty confusing when you consider how much more work it took to make that egg instead of the one I ordered.
But then to top it, everything was VASTLY lacking in seasoning. The arepa and steak both needed quite a bit of salt. The arepa needed butter, but I can understand leaving that off so the customer can decide to put it on or not, so no fault there. The eggs definitely had some salt on them, but needed a little bit more.
I would have given this only one star, but the price was amazing, and while the coffee had quite a bit going on for my taste (black,) the customer service factor of providing coffee with the meal is a beautiful touch especially at that price point. It definitely reminded me of visiting my family in Colombia, which is what I was hoping for.
I have to say though: the rice and beans were a huge reason for the second star: on point ✔✔

Pio Pio has been our favorite resturant for many years now. We used to live on closer to the location near I-Drive but now live near the Semoran location. There are some subtle difference between the two locations, nothing bad, but the food is always spot-on and so delicious. We have never had a bad meal here and always leave satisfied. Always money well spent!
