What a joke. Yesterday was my first appointment. 2 PT's attempting to "treat" at least 8 patients at the same time. My therapist would shout directions at me over her shoulder... supposedly directing me to try a new exercise. Some young person -- called a "tech" with absolutely NO TRAINING was told to help me. He knew he was over his head and kept shouting across the room to the PT for some kind of direction. Meantime, the muscles on the leg that was ostensibly being "treated" started to spasm. Today I am in even more pain.
My best guess is that -- even though the PT's I encountered were well-trained -- this chain of PT centers -- "Accelerated Rehab Centers" -- books as many patients as it possibly can and then some, whether or not there are PT's available to treat them. These PT's have to do the best they can to simultaneously treat several patients... get them in and out the door... pretend to give them numerous "treatments" and then charge the insurance companies as much as they possibly can.
Never again.
