Finally someone thought of this. The Liberty Building is an old bank building located across from the Peoria Civic Center. They divided it into 4 restaurants. The Liberty Pub is on the corner of Jefferson and Liberty and very visible to patrons of the Civic Center. I was downtown for a show, so I decided to stop in for a quick meal beforehand.
It's set up with a bar along the back wall and lots of tables. I sat at the bar, ordered a beer and a burger. The burger comes with nothing on it, but they have a toppings bar so you can finish it off. The burger was pretty good. Nothing special, but better than your average pub burger. They also got a menu of other sandwhiches appetizers and pizzas
My complaint was the service. The bartenders/servers were all pleasant, but they obviously needed more help. Yes, this was a weeknight, but there was a show at the Civic Center that was almost a sell out. The closer it got to show time, the busier it got. One gentleman next to me waited almost 15 minutes to get a beer. I was fortunate enough to be finishing mine when the bartender got to him or I might have been waiting a while as well. The owner kept coming out and talking to the waitress about something, but the two of them just couldn't keep up with the demand.
