Pepper's replaced Fahey's Downtown Deli in the basement of the Commerce Bank Building. I thought Fahey's failed because it was overpriced and it looks like Pepper's is following the same business model.
The food was good. I had the "hot lunch" which was Chicken Paramagan with a side of Baked Mostacolli and a dinner roll. The price was over $6.00 and I left hungry. Hungry enough that I stopped at McDonald's and got a value meal.
The restaurant is set up the same as Fahey's. You order at what looks like a buffet, but the chef dishes out the portions. They have options for salads and cold sandwiches as well.
To me, Pepper's was like eating at a catered wedding. The food was pretty good, but the portion size was too small...especially for the price.
