Ok so lets set this straight JR's Deli is at S. Croskey and Wolf and JR's Bar is at s Croskey and W Passyunk.Someday google will get it right. The place is an old south Philly bar with ratty paneled walls and a late 60-70's decor with loads of band t-shirts hanging from the ceiling. Live music happens a few times a week, mostly thrash.punk,metal type stuff but every once in a while a jazz combo will play. Drinks are fairly simple bottled beers and the basics. You go here to see non mainstream music and have a good time, the ambience and service are not the things you are looking to see excel in a dive like this. Steve is a happy go lucky musician bartender, he might not have the disposition of a server looking to make mad tips but he is one of the reasons this place has such a variety of shows. I am pleased to live around the corner and have this as my local dive.
