The National Park Service maintains the Magnolia Garden beautifully. There are benches in the shade of magnolia trees, which are magnificent when they bloom in the spring. The garden is located in the middle of the block on a section of Locust Street that is not a through Street, so it can be peacefully quiet. Of course, St. Mary's elementary school sometimes uses the garden as a playground, especially for after-school activities during nice weather, so sometimes it can become busy. The garden is open to the public year round, only closes during major maintenance activities.

Lovely, quiet park beside an old cemetery. If you arrive in spring when the Magnolias are blooming it's magnificent, at other times of year it is peaceful.
