Jim's Steaks on South St is the best in Philly. It seems Pat's and Geno's get most of the press but their steaks are too thick and chewy. Jim's steaks are much more tender than those. Years ago my wife and I split a "Wiz wit" at all three places and decided Jim's was the best by far. The line can be long but it moves fast. Don't act like you're from Ohio and ask for mayo and lettuce, etc. "Wiz wit" is all you need to know.

The best cheese steak in and on south street. Guarantee uses soft Black Angus steak super super tender...I like to add raw onions and red peppers add a little bit of salt and pepper of course cheese whiz and hot sauce on the side and always make sure you season it with a little salt and pepper and a little bit of ketchup if you LIKE BANGING!!!! SO GOOOD:))) YOU'LL LEAVE WITH A SMILE AND A HAPPY BELLY.

Best cheese steak in Philly, without question. Used to live in Philly and like this place much better than Pat's or Gino's. Back in Philly for vacation with my husband after more than ten years away and Jim's was just as good as I remembered. My husband had never had a cheese steak in Philly and he was just blown away. Love this place and looking forward to my next visit.

Cheesesteaks here are some of the best that the city has to offer, plan to wait though. Lines of people are usually wrapping around the corner, but it's well worth it and gives you plenty of time to figure out what you want. Also beware when trying to park on the street, Philly parking authority are a notorious vultures and will ticket or tow your vehicle in a second. It's a wonder that they even want tourists to visit.

Much better than Pat's or Geno"s. Indoor seating, but there's always been a big line whenever I go there and it can be hard to get a seat. You can see your sandwich made up close. More flavor than the other two. Even a bit of helpful service at times, totally unlike the other pair. Less tourist trap feel though of course most customers are it seems.
