I have been blessed to dine at some of the best restaurants in the world and Zahav is up there with them! Everything we ate was delicious, with unique, and inventive flavors. We did the chef‘s tasting menu and highly recommend, though you will walk out extremely full. It is a mostly vegetarian menu, but things like the carrots or green beans are elevated to a new level. Definitely the best carrot dish I ever had in my life. Try things you think you don’t like and you might be surprised. My husband, who usually does not like fennel, was blown away by how good the fennel salad was. The branzino was another stand out, along with the traditional hummus. And what can I say about the lamb shoulder? Tender, flavorful, enormous portion which you will not be able to finish, which was even better the second day. Even the desserts were incredible, and I am not normally a dessert person. Can’t wait to come again on our next visit to Philadelphia!

Showed up Saturday night, no reservation. Got two seats at the bar and ended up having perhaps the best meal of my life. One of the few five star ratings I have ever given, but this place deserved it. Outstanding. Just outstanding.

Chose this restaurant on a whim since close to Ritz Five and based on its reviews. Ambiance is fantastic and hummus is phenomenal. Enjoyed being able to watch the meal preparations while we dined. We were in a rush to make a movie and the wait staff accommodated our request to be served quickly in such a pleasant manner, although a very busy evening for them. Definitely will be dining here again!!!

I'm not giving this restaurant 5 stars only because I experienced it in private room with a fixed menu. However, my experience was positive in every respect. The service was extraordinary, the staff was beyond accommodating, and the food was outstanding. The small plates of vegetables and hummus were delicious. The main courses of lamb and grouper were fantastic. Everyone marveled at the lamb. The dessert was comparable to the other dishes.

Zahav is an amazingly excellent restaurant. Not only is the food excellent, the service is also. They knew we had a birthday in the party, and the menus arrived with a named happy birthday greeting. We had the tasting menu & each bl course was outstanding. The restaurant had even hand marked some menu items to reflect allergies. All-in-all outstanding. Would rate higher if more starts available.
Typically you have to book reservations well in advance. Depending on the day of the week (Mondays probably best) you can get a walk-in reservation if you get there early enough. You may have to sit at the bar. It's worth it.
