Communication is definitely not the key with this company. I get the impression they think they are doing this outpatient rehab out of the goodness of their hearts instead of it being a paid service. We had a physical therapist that had given us a day she would be here and said she would text us the time on the morning of our appointment. Later in the afternoon after not hearing from her and because my sister-in-law (the actual patient) wasn't feeling well I sent a text cancelling. We never even got a confirmation that the text was received. The next day we had another appointment with the same physical therapist for my sister (another patient) She did send a text for this visit and when I questioned her about the lack of response to my sister-in-laws appointment she simply replied, "I got your message just figured I would see her this week". I plan our days and schedule our life events around these visits. They get paid for these visits. Our time is also of value. We also get aide visits for showers once a week. After our call from the aide scheduling the date and time, I had everything set for the shower. Towels for the floor, ample washcloths and towels , soaps and shampoos. The floor towels were not used although my sister-in-law indicated the towel was there for that reason. The aide put the shampoo on DRY hair not wetting it first and when my sister-in-law mentioned the use of separate wash cloths for face, body and privates the aide ignored her. On the second visit I did sit down with the aide and requested she read and sign shower instructions I had typed up so there would be no questions or possible confusion on how my sister-in-law (the patient/client) requested her shower be handled. She did read and sign with no problem however after 10 days and not hearing a word from JAA or the aide or possibly another aide we finally questioned the shower schedule Apparently that aide in particular had other patient/client responsibilities and that's absolutely fine however neither the aide nor JAA found it necessary to communicate with us. 10 days is a long time to wait in between showers with NO communication. I'm not sure how anyone else feels but I just feel that this is unacceptable for paid services!
