This place is amazing. You can tell they love to cook by the way the food tastes. Everything is fresh first of all. There are complex flavors in the dishes. Even after tastes are incorporated into the food, and the options available at the buffet. The buffet is around $8 and is well worth it. Even the rice and nan are done with attention. The nan from the tandoori oven in fact. I feel lucky to have this place close at hand.

If you want to dine good Indian food on a dime, this is the place to go to. It's right opposite to UPMC Childrens Hospital, so you won't have a hard time finding it. The buffet lunch is really good and comes with a nice variety of dishes. The staff are super friendly as well. You won't regret going here for sure

Awesome experience! The people are nice, calm, pleasant atmosphere. If we had any questions on the food he would answer them......1st x in Pittsburgh and at a Indian restaurant and I felt welcomed.

I was waiting for a pick up order. I have picked up from here several times before. Always the same issue. I'm always dealing with someone with an attitude. Usually it's the same woman I have a problem with. I initially thought that's just how she was until I started paying attention to others who were picking up. When white customers/delivery drivers come to pick up her attitude is completely different. I was hoping I was wrong, but it's happened too frequently.

Best Indian Restaurant in Pittsburgh.
I've been to ALL of them, multiple times at different hours all in the past month to see for real, which is the best Indian restaurant...
This is it.
Though the menu is limited, the space humble, and the flavors simple, the food itself is high quality, and the preparation is careful; it is not fancy, but does not over-complicate the food or use excess grease or cream. The flavors of the ingredients shine, the flavor is home-cooked and comforting, and you feel good after finishing your meal!
Above all, the staff at this restaurant are the best of any. They serve you with a smile, are not intrusive, and yet not negligent either.
They will also go above all other places to serve your needs, whether that is an accommodation for a special sauce, or what have you.
To top it all off, they are the least expensive of any in the area, and the resulting value is the best bang for your buck in the city!
I am now loyal to Taste of India, and it will be my go-to for eating out Indian food.
