I showed up solo on a Saturday and was told the wait would be about 1.25 hours. I’m glad I waited.

The seat that opened up was in the middle of the bar facing the kitchen. I got to interact with the cooks during my 7 course tasting menu. They were three rockstars all at the top of their game.

The service was great. They explained the courses very well, but wine knowledge of the servers was outstanding. Everyone who brought a dish over was polite and friendly.

As for the food, it was fantastic. The theme seemed French, but took liberties to make it uniquely Portland. Given the small space and tiny kitchen dinner was all the more special.

Make a reservation if you can. Wait if you must. It’s worth it.

Absolutely great place to eat!! Get your reservation in early as seating is limited. They do have bar seating available on a first come first serve basis. I can see why this Chef is very highly regarded!!

Definitely make a reservation if you want to go, the space is meant to be more intimate so there aren't very many tables. We got two dishes, the truffled chicken and the beef cheek. The chicken was really special - it was a pun on 'popcorn' chicken and they incorporated popcorn into little parts of the dish. Very cool. The beef cheek was too salty in my opinion, and I couldn't finish it. Service didn't hit the same mark as the food, felt like they were a little aloof. Overall, glad we tried.

Absolutely gorgeous place for a date or dinner with friends. We sat at the bar and had an incredible dinner. The award winning chief works directly on the line and you can watch them create amazing plates right in front of you. They have an extensive wine list and will help you chose based on your preference and dinner selection. We will go back often.

The professionalism and customer service of the employees here goes above and beyond anything I've ever experienced at a restaurant before. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and was very impressed with the appetizer and desert. I ordered veal for my entree (it was the first time I had ever tried veal and found out I didn't much care for this type of meat, no fault of the restaurant) I ended up eating a fair amount of the entree, but didn't touch the veal too much. The waiter noticed that I didn't eat much of the veal and without asking removed the entree from my bill. If that isn't great customer service, I don't know what is. The atmosphere is great as well as the eclectic wine selection. Will definitely be coming back.
