Not too impressed with this place. We had a group of six big guys and we all decided to get the option which allows them to basically feed us for $32 a person. For one thing I thought they could have brought out plates with 6 servings of each thing so we could each have a serving. Instead they brought out small servings we had to cut up into smaller pieces so everyone could try it. Also several of the dishes they brought out just didn't taste that great. There was a cucumber salad that was very bland and the roasted potatoes were also very bland. Also they are supposed to have air conditioning but it was very very warm in there. Overall I would say there are a lot of better restaurants to choose from in Portland. This place isn't a very good value for the money at all. We didn't feel we got our moneys worth.

I had been to this place before for breakfast several months ago and was underwhelmed then but we decided to give it a second try with friends. The first thing that you can not miss is the inferno that will hit you when you walk in-- no air conditioning. We decided to order the multiple course meal and at a price of $32.00 per person --we were extremely unimpressed. The food was bland and unimaginative. Combine this with the pretentious attitude that meets you at the door - I highly suggest people to keep looking as their too many other great places to eat in Portland.

Simply superb. We were able to compose our own Mel from fresh single elements. The chef is adept at understanding seasoning. He is able to enhance rather than overwhelm the perfect , fresh food is the star in each dish. The zabaglione was the most perfect dessert. Light and luscious, the meal was simply and finely finished . A rare treat !

I've never thought of Navarre as Mediterranean food, but maybe that's because it's hard to categorize in general. Everything John and Giovanna serve they make their own, adding beautiful and delicious twists to every dish. The food is best enjoyed family style so you'll get to experience as much of it as possible. Try getting out of your comfort zone and ordering something you wouldn't usually order--it will surprise you how much you'll enjoy it! The steak cannot be missed, though! Perfect for a romantic dinner for two or a gathering of friends, the setting manifests intimacy and enjoyment.

Good food... if we knew what we were getting ourselves into. We ordered the "chef's special" and they just brought out a random assortment of food with no explanation of any of the food parings. A little explanation would have been nice.
