Attended with my teenage daughters. We loved the church itself and we are generational members of first pres beginning with my parents, moved in from Chicago and NY NY before that. We didn't return to Portland first pres because the sermon was absoutely an intellectual bore with no inflection or personal involvement. There was no talking to my daughters into setting this aside and looking for other positive aspects to remain with the denomination. I write this in hopes to have a positive affect. I'm a devout, practicing Christian and have raised my daughters to enjoy our faith and the community it brings us. We continued with another non-denominational church. My thought is to return to the Presbyterian denomination after my kids move off to college.

I've been here once or twice, mainly due to the 'Solid Rock' service having to be moved here due to a wedding or some other event. It's indeed a very beautiful building both outside and in. At the time I went church hunting I went here once, but decided not to stay around due to the lack of people around my age to relate to. Hence why I decided to go to Solid Rock. The people very gracious and nice though!
