The staff was friendly, pastries were delicious, and the drip coffee had a really nice nutty flavor. I came looking for a great cappuccino, and if you're interested in old-school all-foam caps, then it's probably fine... but I did end up changing my order to a drip coffee because it's not what I was after.

Came here on a Saturday morning at the height of business and they were still very efficient. They take their time with mochas and specialty drinks. Got a soy mocha that was amazing. Also got a veggie pig and black bottom muffin. We had to get another veggie pig because it was so good!

Really, really great coffee and lattes there. I was there in mid-afternoon, though, they weren't busy, but 7 tables inside and 1 table outside had crumbs on them; makes you wonder how clean any of the tables really were. There was a spray cleaner and rag next to the bus cart...does that mean we are to clean our own table in addition to bussing it? If so, put a note somewhere so people know. Otherwise you just have a bunch of dirty, unappetizing tables sitting there empty. Again, great coffee and a great latte.
I will be back; just confused about the dirty tables that could have been cleaned by staff standing behind the counter.

So went back today, 2 weeks later to have another latte which was delicious! But again...2 of 3 outside tables and 5 inside tables had visible crumbs on them. Not inviting at all to sit down with your latte. Makes me wonder how clean the other empty tables are even though they didn't all have visible crumbs. On the plus side, you can always clean your own table because the bus cart and spray cleaner are right there.

Oh Jim and Patty......or could I say Dad and Mom....? The Hipster Bowl was my first sample of your deliciousness, and as a native of the Midwest I must say that while I miss the spiciness of country sausage, your gravy overcomes that. First impression: 2 Portland police vehicles out front....I mist have picked the right place! Smelled like HEAVEN ON FIRE after a 12 hour intensive care unit shift.... white mocha on point, and the chocolate covered espresso bean on the lid? After my sleep-deprived shift this was the most delightful touch! Super friendly yet appropriately aloof staff- I want food, and coffee, and someone to give an appreciative laugh to my lame jokes- they did that! As this is on my way home from work, I so believe you've found a new regular.

We fell in love with Coffee People when we moved here in 1997 and were devastated when they? it? left town. Hence rejoicing and hallelujah at its? their? rebirth, helpfully on Fremont quite near to where we live.

The coffee menu remains outstanding and the food and pastry menu is wonderful--an addition I think unless they were selling it under the counter in their? its? past.

My wife has had ongoing health problems that wreak havoc with her appetite and the savory pastries are the first items she has actually wanted to eat, look forward to eating in a long time. So we are grateful for the talented bakers who so readily accommodate our orders and all the wonderful and welcoming staff.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you,
