Had the pleasure to talk to Judy today. She was incredibly helpful, provided very targeted suggestions and we loved every single thing she recommended. Our trip to Portland would have not been the same without her!

Called in to ask for tourist information for an upcoming trip and the ladies were incredibly rude, trying to get me off the phone quickly, saying "they are not interested in being on the phone for an hour trying to help me plan my trip".. ( i was not asking for my trip to be planned for me, I only wanted information on tourist attractions) They kept telling me that they were volunteers and didn't do that type of stuff!!! (How do they not give information to incoming tourists about their own attractions ?!?!?!?!??!) They were not helpful at all. They gave me phone numbers to other visitor centers that would not be open for another 2 days. What an awful first impression of the Portland hospitality in their visitor center.

There are some nasty, rude, screwed up looking ppl around here. We are on a small vacation here, lots of dirty looking kids and homeless ppl yelling and arguing with each other, it's very uncomfortable being here. We are staying at the Hilton down the street, the hotel and the staff are great, it's very clean and smoke free. Maybe we're shopping and walking around the wrong side of town.
