A small quiet bed and breakfast that had plenty to offer including that Victorian flare

Perfect location for visiting the zoo. 5 minute drive by park backroad. The rooms were huge. Not all rooms had fans or tub showers. The beds were incredibly firm but didn't squeak Pike a box spring. The breakfast was served from 8-9am . Check in is at 3pm and they are serious. Like no one is even there to answer the bell at the front door till 3pm. The wifi was non existent. Even when connected it says " connected no internet" so what was the point..

B&B's should be enjoyable for both their accommodations and breakfasts. The morning meal - presented in either the formal diningng room or the solarium - certainly did not disappoint! The breakfast provided was absolutely delightful. Vanilla bean yogurt with fresh sliced fruit (apple, orange, blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe) for starters. Then Eggs Florentine with home fries, sausage, and toasted English muffin. An assortment of teas were available with coffee and juice. The kitchen even accommodated a younger traveler by making plain scrambled eggs. Outside of the breakfast, the grounds were lovely and the main areas were well-kept. The B&B is situated on Norwood Avenue, behind a Walgreens, but surrounded by quality homes with character and history. Both houses certainly fit in with the homes in the neighborhood. Though addressed at Norwood Ave, parking can be found in the rear, one Street South, on Bartlett Ave. "Junior" greeted us when we arrived and gave us a fine tour and led us to our room. He had a great demeanor and a personable sense of humor. Staying in the second house, our room was comfortable to sleep in; however it was not in a prepared state for our stay. While the beds were made and towels were out, it was evident that no one had stayed there in some time, nor had the room been kept-up. There were plentiful cob webs, dead moths on the main carpet, and dear bugs on the bathroom floor and in the shower. The water must have sat in the pipes a bit, as well, as both faucet and shower had to be run to eliminate the brown and yellow water. A bit disappointing, certainly, but it did not dampen the experience for the entire facility.
