I went into Planet Fitness and canceled my membership in January 2017. I was told by the associate working at the front desk that I would have access to the gym until the end of the month because I had already paid up for the month. I was on a month-to-month membership, so I didn't have to worry about a contract agreement. However, Planet Fitness continued to draft money out of my account illegally the following month with both the annual fee and the monthly membership fee. I contacted them and they stated they would correct it, they didn't. The next month, I was charged again. Planet fitness did not stop drafting until I changed my bank account number. I have yet to receive a refund!

Clean facility, extremely nice staff, good neighborhood. Sometimes really crowded during the week so you'll have to monitor to figure out the best time to go. It would be more convenient if it was 24/7.

Easily one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been to. The facility is open almost all the time, and while it gets pretty busy right after work hours, the staff does a great job of helping each member. I've never had to wait for a cardio machine, and the number of strength machines makes it easy to workout what I'm working on each day. It's rare I cannot get to a certain piece of equipment. Overall, excellent place especially at $10/month.

Very clean gym, and the staff is usually friendly and helpful. Lots of equipment, and they are well organized spatially. The locker room and bathroom are typically clean. Lighting is nice and bright, which matters more than you might think after my experience with other gyms with dim lighting.
The only negative is that there are no squat racks or barbell benches. Personally, I don't like the unnatural movements forced on me with the Smith machines. There's a nice collection of dumb bells, however.

Good luck if you ever decide to cancel. They will make you go to your "home gym" to do so. Mine had closed, so they decided to reassign me to a new one without my knowledge. They still make me drive across town to cancel in person. Goodness help the person that moves before remembering to cancel. Since they won't cancel over the phone they'd have to fly back to town. Unbelievable.
