Just arrived and wanted food. Slightly hidden back a bit on Glenwood right near Hampton Inn Suites.
Very welcome eggs and bacon with wheat toast and french press coffee. Many appealing baked goods for your sweet tooth, nicely presented (not in plastic thank goodness).
Pleasant staff and convivial casual atmosphere. I'd go here every day if I lived here.

The eggs Benedict I had were absolutely delicious. Ethiopian coffee roast had a nice bold flavour. Appreciated the free refill on the coffee. The atmosphere was quiet but not dead. I'll be back!

Beautiful environment with wonderful staff and great food. I've been going to Cafe Helios since they have reopened. The owner has done a great job creating a calm, modern, beautiful place for their costumers. Their choice of food is great and all the things I have tried so far has been phenomenal!!
The music choices are great and relaxing.
It's the best environment to gather friends and have conversation or be by your self and get some work done with free wifi.
The fact that they have special nights as Latin night, wine tasting, international nights and so and so, It is awesome. I truly love and enjoy going to cafe Helios and recommend It to everyone. Give it a try, once you do, you will be their regular customer like me 😊

Cafe Helios is a beautiful coffee shop with a funky upscale vibe. It's a fantastic place to get some work done and in the evening it's a laid back place to get a coffee, a glass of wine, a great drink or enjoy a meal.
The new owner is very interested in ensuring his guests have a wonderful experience at his place and is intimately involved in the place. Since I'm in and out of the place almost every day, I can say that any criticisms or short falls have been corrected quickly. Staff is well trained and you can tell this crew enjoys being a part of the cafe.
Regardless, just understand that this is a laid back cafe. There's a lot of serious people who frequent the place as well, but it's a place to relax first and foremost. So if you're in a mega hurry and want to be in and out, Starbucks is up the street. If you're going to take some time to enjoy your company and the wonderful atmosphere here, then this is your spot.
The new menu is fantastic and consists of some fairly standard sounding fare but with some unique twists that really make it a nice place to land if you're just out and about looking for a place to relax and enjoy a light meal.
Brunch, early morning are all great as well.
Cafe Helios has log been a gathering place for "downtown Raleigh people", both under new and old ownership. The old place was a popular meeting spot for the downtown crowd during a different time for DTR folks. The new is really much of the same, but with great customer service and a much needed face lift.

Perfect spot for a casual meeting or working outside. The patio is beautiful and has umbrellas for shade and the windows make the inside feel open and airy. The coffee and food are good, however the service can be lacking sometimes.
