As a New England native, I grew up eating fresh seafood. The 42nd Street Oyster Bar comes the closest to what I was used to eating in New England years ago. The freshest most tasty Seafood in Raleigh without question. Love the atmosphere. Servers have always been top notch.

This place never disappoints, I always order crab legs and they are cooked perfect. Staff are friendly. The atmosphere gives you a very nostalgic feel.

Loved the atmosphere: lively, fun. We loved our waiter, who made us feel special. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Scallops were fantastic, and I loved my tuna steak, cooked rare. Salad was decent. Hush puppies good, but not necessary.

This place is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Raleigh. I moved here five and a half years ago, and one of my first ever outings was with a guy from work who used to come here three times a week. He brought me down, ordered a bunch of food, introduced me to the staff, and the entire experience locked me in for good. Since then, I have come back at least once a month, I've had drinks at the bar, watched the live music on Fridays and Saturdays, sat at the oyster bar and had half pecks and pecks of oysters galore, sat at table service and had crab and fish and everything you could think of that comes from the sea, I've hosted professional and personal functions alike at this establishment, and I've loved every single second of it. The team that works here are polite, friendly, hospitable, and accommodating, and when you get to know them, they will treat you like a friend coming over for a drink rather than a patron at an establishment, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. Seriously, one of my favorite places in Raleigh.

Really nice place. The wait time for food was fast and the service was awesome. They even had a live band, that was very entertaining. We all agree the food was good. We're from SC so we compare the seafood to ours, everywhere.
