This place is closed. Went by at lunch today and it was dark, no sign of life, just a bunch of empty equipment.

New management since October 2010 puts this restaurant back on the map. Family-owned and operated by some wonderful folks. The food is superb for a fair price and very good customer service. Try the southern cuisine like grits & eggs for breakfast or collards and sweet potatoes for lunch. Made to order entrees.

This best kept secret on Blue Ridge Road accross from Rex Hospital in the Atrium Building offers sensational food at great value.
The two negative reviews below were written by a disgruntful employee who was terminated for lack of pride and poor work ethic with the hospitality industry.

I would rather purse my lips and suck on a red anthill than eat at Atrium Garden Cafe.

Six weeks. That's how long I was eating powdered scrambled eggs at the hospital, across the street from Atrium Garden. You know what powdered eggs taste like? They taste like powder. I broke both my legs on horseback. The doctor's prognosis was two months in the bed more or less, then two more months of physical therapy. But I pulled a Kevin Everett and walked right out the door and into life again after just six weeks. All I saw for a month and a half was Atrium, out my window. It became a symbol for me. It was my reason for trying for a normal life again.

But as my legs ached, I walked forward to Atrium. By the time I was seated, my legs ached more from standing and waiting for a seat than they ever did from atrophy.

Still, feeling triumphant, I ordered the NY Reuben and a salad. I only counted four, but as far as I see, any number of tiny, tiny summer ants is too many to be in a salad. Aside from the red, stinging ants, the salad looked really good.

The Reuben had everything a Reuben is technically supposed to have, but apparently the chef went all avant-garde and decided to add ants. Possibly for panache. Either way, I found the them dreadfully pretentious.

Just to be clear, I am joking about the ants. Not that there weren't ants, but just about the ants. What was put in front of my face supposedly to eat was disgusting with tiny little animals just a'crawling around. All over my salad, all over your Monterey Wrap.

So, just to be clear, this is my recommendation: If you're hungry and are in the area, just break your legs. Break your legs and eat powdered eggs for the next six weeks in the hospital. Just don't eat at Atrium.
