The green bean appetizers were wonderful. The staff were very pleasant, but didn't remember a drink order. Green tea was warm, not hot. War won ton soup was weak ginger broth with two won tons, not the flavorful meat and vegetable soup that should be. The Mongolian beef was too tough. Sorry folks.

Gluten free options available!! Heat seeker shrimp are legendary, calamari are delicious! However the crispy Mongolian beef were overcooked as well as the sweet and sour pork, I couldn't eat the beef at all. Pork was ok. First bad experience ever. Usually everything is delicious and fresh tasting! Will update when I go again!

This was was extremely good. I was looking for Chinese food and figured I'd give this place a try. Certainly not your typical Chinese and more of an Asian-fusion. The meal was delicious. The desserts selection and dessert itself weren't all that great, but the entree certainly made up for that. Cool ambiance, tons of seating upstairs and down, with pool table upstairs.
Hard to recognize from the street. In fact, looks like dive-hole from the street but certainly the opposite once you open their awesome door.

We dined in the main dining room where I had the best fillet in Raleigh! The restored Victorian home set the mood for fabulous food and a quiet intimate dinner. It's so refreshing to eat and have a quiet conversation at the same time! The hostess and wait staff were very helpful and worked well together. This triple-diamond restaurant earned its ranking from the first piece of bread to the last creme brulee,
I rated service, food, and value all 5's. Okay, "value" usually means less expensive, but in this case the food was so excellent and you got great value for the high cost!

We love Five Star and always start with the delicious heat-seeker shrimp as an appetizer to share. Five Star chicken is consistently tasty and the Thai peanut noodles with shrimp contains lots of shrimp and is flavorful and relatively mild - a good choice if you're not looking for something hot and spicy. The wait staff was attentive. I would rate as 5 stars except some lighting was out and our table area was quite DARK, even at 6pm! Chocolate cake is awesome for dessert!
